Newspaper vocabulary

Nothing is so British as a newspaper, except...yes, the morning paper with a breakfast cup of tea. But even if they don't like tea British people are born with a newspaper under the arm, or so it seems like! Generally they like being informed of the news early in the day and even of what's on on television that night; it's a good conversation topic, don't you think? If nothing else, just talk about the news! That's why I have chosen this topic for my first entry, so you can get talking British English as soon as possible.
