This blog is all about speaking British English, and here is why: Most English learners think British English is old-fashioned because it doesn't sound like the English in American TV series. You may have heard about the 'Queen's English' or the 'BBC English' or even people mocking British accents accompanied with over exaggerated manners and gestures. You may think it’s everything but cool, so I accept the challenge to change your mind if this is the case!

Newspaper vocabulary
Nothing is so British as a newspaper, except...yes, the morning paper with a breakfast cup of tea. But even if they don't like tea British people are born with a newspaper under the arm, or so it seems like! Generally they like being informed of the news early in the day and even of what's on on television that night; it's a good conversation topic, don't you think? If nothing else, just talk about the news!
That's why I have chosen this topic for my first entry, so you can get talking British English as soon as possible. Let's see how much newspaper vocabulary you know with this exercise. Good luck!
See you soon!
